A Special Friend!

People with physical differences are a rarity in China as they often disappear or die within orphanages or government care facilities.  When people with such differences are seen, they are often homeless, beggars, or doing a particular craft on the street.  Today Alia made a friend whose differences are similar to her own...

This man (Mile) with Jonathan helped us translate our desire for artwork for "Faith, Hope, & Joy" (our girls' middle names).  God placed him there at the perfect place and time to help (there are few translators here in Guizhou).

Here is our friend Liao who lost his arms writing Joy/Happiness for Alia.

He even stamps his name with his feet, impressive!!

We wanted a photo with him and he asked for a photo with us too!
