Resolutions

A question was asked of us when doing a recent phone interview for an adoption grant, "What is the most important thing you hope for your adopted child?"  Ever since we were asked this question, we have been pondering the response we gave...which was "for her to know Jesus and His love for her and for her to share that love with others."

Yes, we want her to feel loved by us, to feel accepted by our family and friends, to prosper where otherwise we are unsure what might happen to her, but as parents and as believers, our number one job as parents is to point our children to Christ!  The greatest hope we can have for them is to know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior.  Not only is this our hope for Alia, but for Sophia and Lydia as well.

Since this question was asked of us, it has changed my whole thinking as a mom.  And since we are just a few weeks into this new year, it is a resolution of mine personally, being home with the girls on a daily basis, to speak the love and truths of scripture into their lives as often as I can! That's the most important gift I could ever give them!  I am not a perfect mom. I fail our girls daily with how I discipline, order priorities, or by how I talk/act. I'm thankful that each day is a new day and my prayer is that God would keep molding me into the woman He wants me to be so that I can help point our girls to Christ and they can become the women He wants them to be as well!

Thank you adoption grant organization for making us think about the most important thing...Jesus!  In the end, He is all that matters!
