After over 7 months of paperwork collecting, our dossier (adoption paperwork) arrived in China!!! This is a big step in the adoption process and here are some of our expected next steps and guesstimates on timelines...- Log In Date (LID) - we will receive this date in the next few days to few weeks...even though our paperwork is in China, this is the official date used for paperwork tracking purposes
- Referral Acceptance (RA) - Even though we have been pre-approved to adopt our Alia, this will be the 100% confirmation that we get to adopt her! This should happen in the next 2-6 weeks!! The sooner, the better!
- Travel Approval (TA) - this comes 10-14 weeks after we receive our RA!! This is the Chinese government saying, come and get her!
- Travel - 2.5-4 weeks after TA! For us, it is looking like we will get to travel late May-July time frame. The entire journey to China is about 2.5 weeks, involving a stop in Beijing, a week in our daughter's province, and a week in another province as we finalize all of the adoption paperwork.
Please pray for us as we patiently go through the next steps...it is hard to wait, but we hope to have our Alia home this Summer...around a year after our adoption journey began!
